Apio, Inc. Announces Forward Distribution in Northeast
GUADALUPE, CA—December 12, 2007 - Meeting industry demand for quality products with a shorter lead time, Apio, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Landec Corporation (LNDC) has partnered with Captran Logistics located in Reading, Pennsylvania to serve as their transportation carrier to the Northeast. With six locations throughout the United States, Captrans will provide Apio with forward distribution, cross docking and refrigerated storage services.
“This new agreement will enable Apio, Inc. to provide quality fresh cut vegetables in a shorter order to delivery time for customers.” states Bob DeCosta, Regional Sales Manager in the Northeast, adding “we look forward to the opportunities this will afford our trade partners in the region.” Capabilities of this new agreement include delivery six days a week to the New England area from Maine to Virginia.
